Great Lakes Beer Fest info

Postby Wagz » Mon Jun 09, 2014 2:05 pm

Great lakes beer fest is Saturday September 13th at the racine zoo.

Bill signed up our group to pour at the event, and back in early may the 4 complimentary tickets were spoken for
T
Ed Webb
Jason Grover
and myself.
They will only let the 4 of us in early to set up, so if others plan on attending to pour or provide Beer we need to arrange to get it to One of us or Bill ahead of time.
You also need to buy your tickets it sells out every year.
Bill has a 2 line Jockey Box, I have a 3, and I do not know who else has any.
I do not recall how many gallons we had present or went through last year.

Personally I will be bringing:
Barley wine
Red-ish IPA
and then maybe 2.5 gallons of a Berliner weisse and a robust porter aged on spiced rum oak.

T, Ed, Jason etc what are you planning?

Shooting for a keg of Smokehouse Honey Amber and possibly a keg of stout, either my Stopline Mocha Stout or Nocte Nucis, if the barrel aging has done its job to my satisfaction.

FYI, the Google doc isn't editable.

Excited to be pouring alongside you jokers next week. Ready to have a good time. Amanda and I will be getting up there the night before and staying at the Radisson, not sure if anyone else is.

So much fun guys. I think I tasted maybe 2 other commercial brewers beers. I actually got a kick out of telling folks that we didn't have an IPAs on tap. Not that there is anything wrong with IPAs, but there were plenty of other areas to try them. We had the most varied styles of all the home brew groups. I believe we had the busiest booth in HB Island. Lots of return customers.

Is it too early to put my name on the list to pour in 2015?
